Atlantic sea salt, fine

EAN-Code: 4024297150121

A classic among salts. Fine-grained sea salt harvested on the Portuguese Atlantic coast. Suitable for use with salt shakers.

Features:

It is not refined or bleached and is therefore particularly natural. Its high degree of dryness keeps the salt pourable and prevents lumps forming. There is no need to use anti-caking agents.

The CO2 emissions that arise during the manufacture and transport of the products, including the packaging, are financially offset in cooperation with the climate protection organization myclimate.

Sea salt is not an agricultural product and is therefore not governed by EU regulations on organic farming. Consequently, sea salt is not available as an organic product.

Production

The sea salt originates on the eastern Algarve (Portugal). It is still produced in the traditional, artisanal manner: the sea water is channelled into saltpans stamped into the mud close to the coast and is left to evaporate in the sun. It is sieved to remove stones and impurities, milled to the appropriate crystal size and packaged without any further processing.

Tips for preparation

Can be used in a variety of ways to season all kinds of dishes.
