What's special about this pasta is the collaboration between Naturata and the farmers, based on years of personal contact with the Demeter producer association. Every year, at a meeting with all farmers, supply agreements and reliable commitments to purchase are agreed which bring the principles of fair trade to the region and guarantee our partners a secure income. For over 30 years now, the spelt for Naturata pasta has been coming from a Demeter producer association in the Schwäbische Alb region of Baden-Württemberg in Germany.

The soil and climatic conditions on the Alb are ideal for cultivating the traditional spelt varieties such as "Oberkulmer Rotkorn". Such traditional varieties have been used for Naturata pasta right from the start. The high-quality spelt is turned into pasta just a few kilometres away.

Durum wheat pasta ‒ Italian pasta made in Germany

Durum wheat is the ideal raw material for Italian pasta. For Naturata durum wheat pasta we use 100 % durum wheat from farmers working according to biodynamic principles in the Piedmont region of Italy. Thanks to its warm temperatures and low rainfall, the Mediterranean region is perfect for cultivating durum wheat. For over 30 years now, Naturata has been sourcing its durum wheat from these farmers, guaranteeing them reliable purchase quantities and fair prices. Gentle processing and the finest biodynamic raw materials guarantee that Naturata pasta has that typical special "bite" and good cooking qualities.
 

Rice-pasta ‒ guaranteed gluten-free

Rice has flourished for centuries on the fruitful plains of Northern Italy. The organically farmed rice for Naturata rice-pasta is sourced there or, depending on the harvest, from neighbouring countries within the EU.
