Production
The cashew apple is harvested when ripe and separated from the actual stone fruit below. This stone fruit is opened and the seed inside is the cashew nut. The skin of the nut is peeled off by hand after having been steamed briefly. After that, the nut is dried, sorted and packaged.
Tips for preparation
Suitable as a snack or for adding to mueslis, biscuits, desserts, fruit loaf, nut milk, confectionery, salads and Asian dishes, for example.
