Wheat germ oil is remarkable for its unusually high vitamin-E content. It provides approx. 233 mg of vitamin E per 100 g of oil and therefore makes an important contribution to the daily diet. Furthermore, the oil has a high proportion of the polyunsaturated fatty acids linoleic acid (omega-6 fatty acid) and linolenic acid (omega-3 fatty acid).

Production
Tips for preparation
Wheat germ oil is only suitable for cold dishes since most of the valuable ingredients are lost when heated. The delicious, wheat-like flavour of the oil adds an individual, savoury note to all salads and dressings, raw foods and dips. It also tastes delicious in muesli, quark and other desserts. After cooking, it can also be added to soups and sauces or drizzled onto still-warm vegetable dishes.
