Grain coffee cinnamon & cardamom, instant, tin

When choosing our ingredients we set great store by top quality; the grain comes from farmers in Germany who work according to biodynamic principles. Chicory, acorns and figs are cultivated in Europe and Turkey. The slightly sweet taste of the figs gives it that certain something. The high-quality, balanced recipe gives the grain coffee its full-bodied flavour. It is delicately enhanced by aromatic cinnamon and ardamom. A delicious drink for moments to savour!

Production
The instant grain coffee has been produced from the start with much dedication by a small Swiss company with a long tradition. Careful roasting of the individual ingredients as well as gentle extraction result in a particularly mild, complex flavour. A sophisticated spray drying process produces a delicate crema, which brings that genuine coffee house feeling to your own home.
Prior to roasting, the chicory roots, acorns and figs are chopped and dried; the grain is malted for 1-3 days. During the malting process, the grain, rye and barley, is soaked until it germinates. Next, all constituent parts are gently roasted individually. Here, the experience of the roaster plays a decisive role: the roasting process should neither be too long nor too short. Each individual ingredient is roasted for the appropriate time required to achieve a harmonious composition.
The roasted ingredients are then coarsely ground and extraction can begin: this involves the ingredients being very gently flooded with hot water according to the countercurrent principle. A sort of grain coffee is prepared which is subsequently thickened.
The resulting brown coffee concentrate, with 25 % dry matter, is sprayed as a fine mist in a tall spraying tower. The liquid content of the droplets is extracted as they fall through a current of hot air. What arrives at the bottom is dried instant coffee powder.
This time-consuming production process, including the final spray-drying step, is responsible for the delicate crema ? similar to a freshly brewed pure coffee ? which the grain coffee gets when water is added. No auxiliary agents are used.
