Chocolino malt coffee, instant
The blend of organic barley malt from Germany, fat-reduced cocoa from the Dominican Republic and a pinch of genuine bourbon vanilla produces a chocolatey-sweet treat for the sweet-toothed of all ages.
Due to the special manufacturing process used, the instant coffee is gluten-free. First, the individual ingredients are partially malted, roasted, coarsely ground and blended. Next, the roasted and crushed ingredients are brewed to produce a concentrated coffee extract. The powder including the proteins prolamin and glutelin which together constitute gluten and are responsible for intolerance is insoluble and remains in the filter. At this point, the grain coffee is therefore already gluten-free. In the next step, the liquid extract is instantised, in other words it is transformed into a fine powder by spray drying and then packaged. To ensure that no gluten, or even traces of it, is contained in its range of instant coffees, Naturata carries out regular analyses. The gluten content is consistently found to be below the limit of detection.

Naturata instant Chocolino malt coffee has always been produced at a family-run artisanal business in Switzerland.
First, the barley is malted for 1-3 days, that is soaked until it germinates, then gently roasted and coarsely ground. The next step is extraction, whereby the roasted ingredients are flooded with hot water according to the counter-current principle. A sort of malt coffee is prepared which is subsequently thickened. The resulting brown coffee concentrate is sprayed as a fine mist in a tall spraying tower. The liquid content of the droplets is extracted as they fall through a current of hot air. What arrives at the bottom is dried instant coffee powder which is then blended with other ingredients according to a tried-and-tested recipe: Corn syrup, fat-reduced cocoa, raw cane sugar and genuine bourbon vanilla.
This time-consuming production process, including the final spray-drying step, is responsible for the delicate crema - similar to a freshly brewed pure coffee - which the Chocolino malt coffee gets when water is added. No auxiliary agents are used.
Tips for preparation
Put 2-3 teaspoons (approx. 8 g) in each cup and pour on 200 ml of hot water or dissolve the powder in warm milk. Give it a stir - ready! For even more enjoyment, enhance your Chocolino with a dash of cream or some milk froth.
