Atlantic sea salt, with iodine containing algae

EAN-Code: 4024297011927

Thanks to the iodine occurring naturally in algae, Naturata sea salt with iodine and algae can make an important contribution to daily iodine intake. An average consumption of 6 g of salt per day means that Naturata sea salt with iodine and algae provides 60 % of the daily intake as recommended by the German Nutrition Society (DGE).

Features:

It is not refined or bleached and is therefore particularly natural. Its high degree of dryness keeps the salt pourable and prevents lumps forming. There is no need to use anti-caking agents.

Sea salt is not an agricultural product and is therefore not governed by EU regulations on organic farming. Consequently, sea salt is not available as an organic product.

Production

The sea salt originates on the eastern Algarve (Portugal). It is still produced in the traditional, artisanal manner: the sea water is channelled into saltpans stamped into the mud close to the coast and is left to evaporate in the sun. It is sieved to remove stones and impurities, milled to the appropriate crystal size and packaged without any further processing. The iodine-containing algae are cultivated according to organic standards and are sourced from an artisanal company in Spain.

Tips for preparation

Can be used in a variety of ways to season all kinds of dishes.
